IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
When using SawGuard Pro to start a cut, depress the thumb lever to raise the guard. After cut has been started, release thumb lever immediately. If saw starts to “Kick” at any time, release thumb lever and saw trigger immediately.
Your circular saw manufacturer’s safety instructions should be read and reviewed prior to installing or using SawGuard Pro.
Always un-plug your circular saw from the power source when working on the saw, adjusting the saw and installing SawGuard Pro
STEP 1 – UNPLUG SAW FROM POWER SOURCE
STEP 2 – Using a standard screwdriver, remove bolts “A” from saw (Do not discard).
STEP 3 – Attach SawGuard Pro arm assembly “B”, holding aluminum arm towards the base of saw.
Step 4 – Replace screws “A” in original position. CAUTION: Do not over tighten.
STEP 5– Using the star wrench (provided) remove screw “C” from saw (Do not discard), and remove lower
guard-lifting thumb lever.
Step 6 – Using the star wrench attach SawGuard Pro lower guard-lifting assembly
cam, with screw. CAUTION: There are 2 holes on cam “D”. It is important for the hole marked “S” to go on the SKIL or CRAFTSMAN saw only and the hole marked “B” go on the BOSCH saw only. If “S” hole is used on the BOSCH saw, it could cause the guard to stay open and become dangerous. Make sure aluminum arm of assembly “B” is below the cam lift of assembly. “D”. CAUTION: Do not over tighten.
FINAL STEP – TEST OPERATION: DEPRESS THE THUMB LEVER OF THE SawGuard Pro SEVERAL TIMES TO VERIFY SMOOTH OPERATION OF THE LIFTING MECHANISM, ALLOWING THE LOWER SAFETY GUARD TO RETURN INSTANTLY TO ITS FULLY CLOSED POSITION AFTER RELEASING THE THUMB LEVER.
